Cleaning Frenzy

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I woke up this morning very comfortable and not wanting to get out of bed. I actually woke up way early but I finally awoke at 9AM. I managed to finally get a little more sleep until 11AM but I don’t really consider that sleep. I was well rested, I just wanted to try and get more. Anyways, what got me out of bed was a shower and breakfast. I love lounging but I need to take a shower or else I feel grimy. I settled back in bed to watch NCIS. I love that show, Michael Weatherly is by far my favorite character, he makes that show what it is. I made a to-do list and realized I needed to send off my letter. Apparently, it’s a holiday so the timing didn’t matter as the post office is closed (trying to hit the 3:30 pickup.) Oh well. Back to the letter… I had typed it up but hadn’t written it yet. I like to hand write my letters to Ms. Sexy X, it’s more special and romantic I think. Normally I don’t do a rough draft but I found it easier to get all my thoughts out because I can type much quicker than I can write and that allows me to not forget what I want to say. It took me 1.5 hours to write my letter. My hand cramps up due to my wrist injury so it’s no surprise when I have to rest it frequently. I sent the shirt with letter inside and it should arrive by Thursday. Now she won’t read it until much later so I guess it doesn’t even matter. She indicated my last letter never arrived because her cousin said she didn’t see anything. :-(

I panicked because I couldnt find a receipt for a laser printer I bought the other day on sale. I bought my brother’s old one for much cheaper so I returned this one. The receipt was where I originally thought it was, it just fell under a box somehow.

When I got back home I decided to tackle cleaning the bathrooms. No problem for mine and the other bathroom but my brother left the master bath a complete fucking mess. It was dirty nasty. I should have made his ass clean it up but I opted to. I scrubbed and scrubbed which isn’t easy when you have a bum wrist. It’s not spotless, but it is far closer to being clean than it was after only a hour and a half of cleaning.

I then vacuumed as much as I could, getting the crevices good before I put down bug spray. I’ve killed 3 wolf spiders and 2 silverfish lately so I had to get on that.

I decided to go run a mile tonight as well. Yeah, I was tired but fuck it. I ran almost the whole mile, the last hundred yards I did a full out sprint. My legs still felt fresh and my lungs felt good, I could have gone another mile or two I bet. But I just cooled down, did a little backwards running, and then took a cold shower just in time to settle down in bed to watch some Monday Night Football.

I called the Dolphins to win this, confusing the Jets D with their wildcat formations. So far that’s been working. The Jets had two major drive saving fake punts which revived the drive and led to two scores (TD and FG.) The game might be much more lopsided if it wasn’t for that. The Dolphins have been using Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams to great effect. They’ve eaten up so much clock as usual. Michael Vick would be the perfect QB for this wildcat offense. I’m impressed at the running game, that’s all it is. If they could get some good pass plays in, wow the offense would be untouchable.

I’ll probably watch a movie or something after this. I’m not sure. I’m bored and lonely. My mom called earlier today and pissed me off as usual. I’m about done with this shit. During my vacation I’m going to see if I can’t look for an apartment so I can just move. I’ll get a new phone too. Whether I disconnect the old one will depend on how much she bugs me. I don’t hate them or anything but she keeps annoying me about stupid shit and I’m just fed up.

So Cold

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

I woke up this morning warm and cozy though a little chilled. I knew as soon as I got out from under the blankets I’d be freezing. I left my fan on all night and I haven’t had the heat nor air conditioning running for days since it’s been mid fifties out. I guess it finally caught up. The thermometer read 60 but it felt colder than that. I reluctantly turned on the heat knowing full well the nice smell that would greet my nose when it’s first fired up for the season. I didn’t really get to enjoy the mid sixties, we just kind of dropped from 80s to 50s overnight.

I sat in bed all day. I took a hot shower and ate to warm up this morning but I got back in bed and read a bit of the Vampire Chronicles until 1PM. I then streamed the Steelers game on my computer. The two streams I used were okay if not a bit grainy. I tried getting the Chiefs game forever since they were beating the cowgirls and I finally got it though it was choppy as hell. I called the Bengals beating the Ravens, to my dismay and delight. I don’t like the Ravens, I want them to lose like my Steelers did. But the bungles are just embarrassing to lose to and they now have the lead in the division with 3 wins. UGH. I watched the Broncos beat the Patriots which I also called. I think I’ll buy a lotto ticket tomorrow. ;-)

I watched Surrogates which was not the best movie, a little bit trippy but kind of bland. Then I watched most of the Colts spanking the Titans. I came back to the house here to shower and finish my night with the movie 28 Weeks Later. Yes, I’m bored and on a zombie kick.

I wrote a letter that I’ll probably send out tomorrow. It will sit in Ms. Sexy X’s mailbox, though her cousin may bring the mail in. Still, she won’t read it for a while which is fine. What’s the point? I don’t know, I just want to keep sending her letters. This one is going to have a little something with it though. :-) I know she’ll like it even if she says I shouldn’t.

I’m feeling okay. Those texts the other night helped a bunch. I guess I’m just tired right now and a little blah. I’m not expecting anything for a while so anything like the other night will be a pleasantly uplifting surprise for me.

Week 4 SNF: Steelers vs Chargers

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Tell me why our OLBs are struggling to get sacks? Harrison did get one. Timmons has stepped up and done a fine job covering receivers and rushing the passer. Tyrone Carter started off pretty good but Ratliff replaced him… I think he got hurt or something. The secondary has been doing a good job though. My only complaint is doing so well to hold Antonio Gates down until their scoring drive when he suddenly got all sorts of passes including a TD pass from Rivers. I’m pissed off that Logan got the ball stripped out of his hands for an easy TD. Can we not fucking choke in the 4th quarter? This is pissing me off. We were in great field position since they punted from their endzone too.

Wow, what a beautiful trick play. Our fullback rolls out right to block as Big Ben throws an option pitch to halfback Mewelde Moore who’s generally a short yardage back. Heath Miller is running back of endzone and Moore throws a great TD pass to him. That’s something I wouldn’t expect at all and apparently neither did the Chargers defense! Miller also busted loose and caught a fade pass to the left corner of the endzone shaking off the linebacker on him. Good stuff!

Moore also had a pass to him which resulted in a touchdown. Rashad Mendenhall opened up a can of whoop ass with 160+ yards of rushing plus ran in two touchdowns thanks to the help of our o-line and his good running. He was benched last week so I think that lit a mental fire under his ass. Between him and Parker it’s nice to see a running game again. Mike Wallace seems to still be doing good. Ward and Holmes had nice solid performances. There was a drop by each of them but they made the other plays that counted. That fourth receiver spot is still open between Sweed and McDonald. I know Sweed should have it if he can hold on to the ball. He has the talent.

Okay, I’m really getting pissed at our defense. We got man coverage on Gates who is just moving like it’s nothing. Timmons was on him but got faked and there wasn’t any safety over the top. He needs to jam him at the line some more. You can tell there’s a huge difference without Troy Polamalu in the game. Good lord I can’t wait until he comes back.

WHAT THE FUCK! They do a pooch kick and onside it and our guy jumps on it but misses it and the chargers have the ball. Gates gets another pass with Harrison covering him and then he pass interferes with him. This is so fucking retarded. Our defense just fell completely apart. We’re going to lose in the 4th quarter again. Fuck this shit.

I almost hate to say it but our offensive line has performed very well tonight. They’ve opened up all sorts of running lanes and held the pressure off of Roethlisberger. It’s about fucking time. The beauty of it is they’ve done it the past 3 games. I was worried watching the preseason games and the Titans game but our offense is looking explosive which is wonderful. I can’t believe our defense is so anemic. The Steelers drive the ball but get two penalties to push them back. After a checkdown to Moore and a gain of 10-15 that puts Reed in field goal range but he missed two last week. I’m nervous as hell and Pittsburgh ices their own kicker what was funny. They could have had them milling around because we all know they were going to call it to waste as much time as possible, no need to let them get set. He still nailed it squarely and there was plenty of cushion as 3 defensive players lined up offsides. (Only Cromartie got called, no big deal anyways.)

James Harrison comes through big by sacking Rivers and forcing a fumble for a Steeler recovery and a V-Formation to end the game. This team really knows how to make their fans hold their breaths. Good fucking god. What a game and night. Oy.

Triple Option

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

What are my options? The current one is trying to make contact with Ms. Sexy X. I still haven’t heard a thing from her. Calling her phone I just get disconnected. I still don’t know what that means if anything. I don’t like it, that’s for sure. My second option is to try to make contact with her friend. I don’t have her contact information, she never did give me her phone number though she hinted at an email that her friend uses that I can try. I just don’t know if I should, would she be mad? Would her friend be weirded out or even respond? My third option is emailing her mom again but I haven’t heard from her since my SNAFU in July. That really sucks. I know her mom would know what’s going on even if they’re travelling at the moment. She keeps in touch with that friend. Am I doing too much or too little? The big question is why she hasn’t contacted me? I don’t think it’s a lack of want… I sure hope as hell it ain’t. She sounded happy and was excited to talk with me 16 days ago. I don’t think anything could suddenly change her mind. I have no idea, I’m worried and scared.

That’s the big thought on my mind today. I tried going biking today but the bike is broke so I opted out. I wasn’t too keen on doing that but I figured why not… oh well. I did do a workout after I ate Taco Bell… love the food but definitely never the smartest idea to do that. Right now I’m drinking a Pepsi to help settle my stomach. Speaking of Taco Bell, their new Nacho Crunch burrito is awesome. It’s expensive at $1.99 but it’s a welcome break from the Burrito Supreme which they jacked the price up on.

I’m also helping my brother move a little, I figured it’d give me a distraction. I watched the Bungles beat the Browns. I still can’t believe the Steelers lost to them last week. They’ll beat the Chargers tonight at 8PM. Too bad Polamalu is out again as I can’t wait until he’s back. The Patriots beat the Ravens, I called that upset though it was just barely and I still think the Ravens are the better team there. I didn’t expect the Redskins to win nor Jacksonville. Interesting.

I’m tired at the moment. I think I’ll go up on the roof and think. Yeah, it’s slightly cold and there’s a cool breeze. I don’t care. The clouds mask the sunset but I’ll watch regardless.

I need help and the only one that can help me hasn’t talked to me in 16 days. That suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks like you wouldn’t believe. Things will get better, they have to.

News, Lose, And Shoes

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Keep this SCOTUS docket in mind: McDonald v. Chicago, 08-1521. Why? It is a case challenging Chicago’s draconian handgun ban law and the Supreme Court of the US has actually decided to hear it! Wow! I never thought I’d see the day. I know Heller v. DC opened up the floodgates so to speak with all sorts of laws being challenged but the ruling was narrow and didn’t touch incorporation of the 2nd Amendment. I figured it’d be years before we saw a case like this and it’s on the docket already for next summer! I’m not sure what the plan is here, it was a 5-4 ruling on Heller v. DC and the only justice replaced was already a leftie so the balance hasn’t shifted. I’m surprised that the law will be challenged under Obama’s administration. I don’t know how it will go but almost everyone, including gun banners, think the ban will be overturned. I agree but it’s what else is put in that opinion that could make a difference. I’m nervous but it’s about time.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/01/AR2009100100419.html

Moving on to the Ultimate Fighter last night… what a horrible fight. The episode was good, it was pretty funny with all the bickering. I laughed pretty hard when Rampage told McSweeney to “take Rashad’s nuts out your mouth so I can hear you.” Then when Rashad was harrassing Rampage about losing to Keith Jardine who was in the house… priceless. The fight was very predictable. I wanted to see Kimbo lose since he’s garbage but I don’t like Roy at all, he’s an ass who sucks at MMA as well. I hope he gets knocked the fuck out now, with them saying he’s Rashad’s number one guy let’s me know they’re in trouble now. Anyways, Kimbo’s obvious chance was to stay on his feet and deliver punches, everyone knows that. He has no ground game, he’s new to it. That was made obvious when Roy finally took him down with a minute to go in the first round where they stayed with Roy using his fat rolls to smother Kimbo and lay little punches on his head. Weak. In the second round Kimbo starts off strong and lands quite a few heavy punches which obviously stuns Roy. Roy comes after him and Kimbo just lands a huge knee into his gut. Unfortunately, that meant at that moment Kimbo was standing on one leg off balance. Roy’s forward inertia coupled with his giant fat rolls kept him going forward, falling right on Kimbo which actually left Roy in the better position – on accident I assure you. From there we had a full minute of Roy doing nothing. I like Herb Dean but he should have waved them up to their feet but he didn’t. Roy had a very weak side control which any good fighter could get out of. He pinned Kimbo’s arms to the ground and used his rotundo to smother him whilst laying itty bitty punches to the top of Kimbo’s head. Herb had no choice but to call the fight after a minute of that. Why? While he wasn’t doing any damage, Kimbo couldn’t defend himself and this would have gone on for 3 more minutes so it didn’t matter. WEEEEEAK! I’m sure we’ll see them work Kimbo back in somehow, the previews are already hyping that shit. Marcus looks like he could be a beast but he’s a softy given his rant on flowers. WTF? I can respect a man and gardening but while you’re on an MMA show competing for a contract you might want to keep that little tidbit to yourself. I can dig it but it’s only going to hurt you. He seems hurt prone too.

Lastly, Michael Vick was said to have a new endorsement with Nike as reported by ESPN last night.  I was calling BS, there’s no way. I was proved right this morning when they reported an agent claimed he was but a Nike spokesman said that there is no endorsement in place, just free equipment provided like they do for many athletes. That’s too bad, I was getting my hopes up for some “BadNewz Shoes” you know that new “PitFight Series.” Hahahaha.

I’m going on 13 days without hearing from my Ms. Sexy X. I’m a bit sad. I’m feeling okay, I’m trying not to let it get to me but you know that shit lingers regardless. I have a busy day of painting, mowing, and fixing my computer ahead of me. Then I go into work. It’s finally sunny and clear here, I was getting pissed off at all the cold assed weather and cloudy days lately. It’s still chilly, mid-60s maybe. Oy.

NFL Week 3: Steelers vs Bengals

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I don’t know where to start on this game. I was satisfied to see our offense step up with a running game. It’s been a while since Fast Willie Parker has done anything after being hampered with the leg injury for the past 2 years. He stepped up this game and averaged 4 yards per carry easy.

The Steelers drove it all the way down to around the 5 yard line and couldn’t convert to a touchdown. This is where Ben should throw a fade to Holmes but no such luck. They had to settle for a field goal. A little later on, Big Ben was being hurried and managed a checkdown to Parker who ran it in for a touchdown. That’s the kind of plays we need. The defense held up okay, allowing just one field goal. Unfortunately, on yet another drive down field we settle for a field goal but Jeff Reed misses it. I have no idea what’s going on with him, he’s shaken up I guess. I’d normally bet a hundred spot on him but his performance this year is shaky which is horrible news for a team that loves their field goals. This might force Ben to start going for it which could be a good thing. I’m not sure yet. At the end of the half Big Ben throws a short pass to Santonio Holmes who was supposed to cut back on curl I guess except Holmes kept running an out route. I believe the corner on Holmes came back and caught an easy interception and ran it in for a pick six.

It got better with a touchdown by Big Ben on a 1 yard run. Securing a lead was looking good but still a bit shaky. On a third and long Ben put a beautiful pass right into the hands of Limas Sweed for a touchdown! But oh wait, this second year rookie dropped the pass! No one was on him. He had it and should have continued running except he just fell to the ground where he should have still had it but then just bobbled it out. Wow, fail. Don’t look to get any more passes you jackass.

The biggest player out of the game had to be Mike Wallace. This rookie had 7 catches for over 100 yards. Ben should have gone to him some more. Look for him to be a potent weapon. Logan as the run back specialist is still looking good too.

Our biggest problem besides slippery fingers and a mediocre run game? Our defense. Did I just say that? I certainly did! With star strong safety Troy Polamalu out you can see the weakness of the specialized D. Tyrone Carter is doing okay but this defense needs the special skills of TP. I have no idea why Dick LeBeau lost this game for the Steelers. He completely stopped blitzing and switched to the fucking stupid prevent shit that only prevents a team from winning. Once again that rule proves effective and the Steelers lost. Okay, it worked on quite a few plays to leave them with TWO 4th and longs. Game ending plays, right? SO BLITZ the shit out of them. It works especially with the STEELERS DEFENSE! Why oh why do you put 4 in the box and not try to stack it? Our secondary was playing great enough to prevent a pass, even if they throw underneath you can tackle them short of the first down for the win! And then Farrior had the big missed tackle to allow them the final first down and the eventual win. I was so fucking pissed.

I can’t wait until Troy Polamalu is back. The Bungles suck and they should have lost. Now they’ll wave this stupid win over the Steelers like it was something. At least it looks like our offense is showing up and improving which is always good.

Same Old Story

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

I ate breakfast this morning wary of how I feel. My stomach feels fine so maybe it was just the pizza that threw my stomach off yesterday. It might have something to do with working out, drinking all that water, and then being a pig faced piggy when it came to the pizza.

I feel fine this morning. There’s a tinge of sadness there. It’s been 9 days now since I last heard from her. I’m hoping she’ll call today. I tried last night but I’m not sure if it rang because it did a weird disconnect thing, I think that’s on her end but it could be my phone. I’m not worried about it. I dream of her a lot in so many ways. I can’t wait.

I will be sending this letter off Tuesday, I haven’t finished it yet just in case she calls. She should get it by the first of October and I’m sure she’ll love it. I’m also bidding on two cute shirts for her, I know she says she doesn’t want gifts. I’m debating on how to give them to her. I’d like to give them to her in person. I may ship one and take the other with me. She wants this shirt and she’d like it, I know she would. I like both these shirts. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to that.

I haven’t been shopping in a while. I’ve been saving up money and I just haven’t felt up to it. I guess it’s a sort of depression thing but it’s whatever. I may do it this week.

Today is NFL football day. I think I’ll just stay at home and watch the games. I know it’s not the most exciting thing ever but I like watching football. That sucks because I know she would watch with me (I don’t think she’s the biggest fan ever but she definitely likes it. That’s how I am though, so we’re perfect for each other. Just another thing. ;-)) I have to scour the internet for a link to her team since it’s not on the locals. It’d be nice to have DirectTV but that’s way too expensive for me. I’d go to a bar but I don’t feel like it. The Steelers do take on the Bengals and I’m hoping they cream them like normal. I’m worried about Palmer going after Carter, he’s no Polamalu.

Today I’m really feeling very neutral. We’ll see how it goes. The only two times I’ve felt really sad is the past two nights I think when I went to bed. I guess right when I wake up too for the same reason. It’s all so very hard.

On a lazy, fatass note I do plan on working out but there’s a strong possiblity I won’t because of the aforementioned adjectives I’ve picked for myself. ;-) It may be because I’m awwwesome!

Week 2 MNF: Colts vs Dolphins

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Here’s a game I wasn’t too interested in. I knew it’d be a good game but I just wasn’t feeling it. It was made all the worse given that night. However, it was interesting to see the carnage the Colt offense wrought.

The Colts had the ball for only 15 minutes of the game and yet managed to put 27 points on the board. The last drive was 4 plays and 80 yards for a touchdown. Imagine if the Colts defense stopped Miami’s offense and got the ball back in Manning’s hand again. So is the Dolphins defense that bad? Should Manning slow down the drives for his defense’s sake? Afterall, Pennington had a chance to win the game but blew it. I think Manning could have managed it better so they were never in that position. I have to hand it to Miami’s offense and their wildcat obsession to tire out and beat down the Colt’s defense for 45 minutes but they should have won the game. I’ve seen horrible clock management like that a few times before, it reminded me of the Seahawks loss in the Super Bowl against the Steelers. It took forever to setup a play and then they call a timeout after wasting 30 seconds and then they don’t get a snap off before the 2 minute warning… wasteful.

Both quarterbacks sat around 66% completion rating though Manning had almost 100% more yards than Pennington and he had 2 touchdowns to boot while Pennington only had an interception. Not good at all. Let’s not forget there were THREE dropped touchdown passes for the Dolphins, including the potential game winner. Talk about needing some practice.

The Dolphins have a weapon in Ronnie Brown, they’re rush attempts were 5:1 compared to the Colts with 239 yards on the ground to a paltry 61 to the winners. We have two potentially good teams here but there’s a lot of work to be done.

NFL Week 2: Steelers vs Bears

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I don’t like Cutler. He’s not that good but he thinks he is. Besides, he went to Vandy. This whole ordeal with him crying over spilled milk and being a douche and demanding a trade was the final straw. So to beat the Bears today was a must. It didn’t happen.

Our offense showed up today and it looked pretty good. The Steeler’s offensive line held up and Ben had plenty of time. Our running game was stout with both Parker and Mendenhall behind the ball. Our main problem on offense? Holding on to the ball, mainly by Santonio Holmes. He had several huge potential catches that just didn’t happen. It was raining hard at several points so I understand that. Ben had a few slip ups including the interception… that rain came down on that drive and it’s hard to battle. I don’t fault them. Now… one guy that I thought was a sure thing is Jeff Reed. He’s almost always money. I said it was unheard of when he missed two kicks in preseason. Well, guess who missed two kicks in a row? They were both left, not by too much either. One was around 38 yards and the other 45. Not give mes but for him it should have been. When the game came down to Robbie Gould, I knew it was over. He’s the other kicker in the NFL that is always on if you ask me.

Our defense without Troy Polamalu is atrocious. Okay, okay maybe not that bad but close. We’re playing zone and Cutler tore us up underneath. Polamalu has the unique talent of reading the opponent’s offense like it’s nobodies business and he fills those gaps. That’s why he’s so instrumental in the defense and such a huge playmaker. Tyrone Carter is okay but he always came in after the ball got there. There were gaping holes and piss poor tackling throughout. One of my favorite parts of watching the Steelers is not their offense but the way they conduct a beautiful defense. I was not impressed tonight.

The touchdown to Spaeth was beautiful. Ben’s own run and jump touchdown was great. Who would have thought a big guy like him can move like that? Well, we knew that already but it seems like a surprise every time! Logan is impressing me as a kick returner so far. Going for a touchdown on 4th and 2 was great, I’m glad Tomlin recognized the strength of the drive and played it. I saw 2 times where the Bears had that going and Lovie Smith backs down. I breathed sighs of relief on those.

The only things that bugged me really bad was Reed missing those kicks and Logan fumbling at the end to lose the game. True it was probably over but if he wants that spot, he needs to take care of the ball as well as get yardage. I also wish Holmes and Ben had better ball control when the rain came on as that was some major yardage wasted.

The final score? 17-14. I can’t wait until Polamalu gets back!

MNF: Week 1

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

We have a double header on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. The Patriots took on the Bills and the Chargers are taking on the Raiders. My intial thoughts are “how boring” considering the Bills and Raiders suck. Well, that was last year, this is a new year. The Raiders are an awfully young team led by Jamarcus Russell… not new to the NFL but he’s just coming into his own I’d say. The same goes for Michael Bush and Darren McFadden. Surprisingly they’re doing really well especially their running game. However, their receivers have not impressed and Russell has to go to his tight end. Whatever works, right?

The Bills now have Terrell Owens on their team. Always the drama queen but he was somewhat subdued this game. The Bills led the game the whole way which took me back. They only hit Owens maybe two times. The Bills had a healthy 11 point lead. The Patriots would need a touchdown and two point conversion plus get the ball back and get a field goal. Brady gets into gear and manages to drive down and score a touchdown with apparent ease to his tight end Benjamin Watson. They attempt a two point conversion and Randy Moss is open but he throws a pick looking for a covered Watson in the corner. The Patriots kick off and it’s McKelvin that fields this kick in the middle of the endzone. So tell me why you’re up 5 points with less than two minutes to go… why don’t you kneel it? At the very least run it out and then go down. 35 yards is a nice return and you did kill clock time but the obvious fatal error here is what if you fumble and that’s exactly what happened and the Patriots recover. It takes a few plays and a minute to find Watson down the middle and score another touchdown. They go for a two point conversion so a field goal won’t end the game. That’s broken up so the Bills have blown a huge lead and need to drive down to get the field goal. It started off well but the clock management was horrid and a few sacks just sealed the deal. I’ll give the Bills credit for doing so well but this chokage is what kills them and makes them a laughing stock.

Can the Raiders follow suit or do they have a chance to win this one? Their running game looked stellar though Russell’s throwing was inaccurate and his receivers still too inexperienced. Right before the half, the worst officiating call I ever seen came down from the review booth. Louis Murphy jumped up in front of the safety and Russell fed the ball perfectly over the linebacker and Murphy caught the ball and got two feet down in the endzone. That should be it. Touchdown, it shouldn’t matter what happens afterwards. The refs called for a touchdown but a booth review came down since it was under 2 minutes. However, Murphy came down with the ball and the ball touched the ground but his arm was still under it and he still maintained possession. The booth said he did not maintain possession… WHAT THE FUCK? He looked like not only did he catch it and score, but he had it down to the ground… it no longer matters if the ball touches the ground as long as the player still has possession. It looked more like a touchdown than Shockey’s the day prior. Hopefully, the NFL will review that call, that’s just pitiful.

How do the Raiders respond? Deep into the 4th quarter Russell finds an open receiver, none other than Murphy in the middle of the field. He launches it right on his numbers and he cruised into an easy touchdown. The game is all but over as we saw in the prior game. What happens here? Rivers makes several completions and performs an excellent two minute drill to finish off with a handoff to that fast Sproles for a touchdown to end the game in a Chargers win. (Sproles had several very large kick returns one of which allowed the game to go tied into the half.) Nice job Raiders, you’re right there with the Bills.

I Hate Cell Phones

Monday, September 14th, 2009

I just got a dozen text messages from Ms. Sexy X. She’s been sending messages but either her carrier is delaying them big time or mine is. Either way, that pisses me off that I’m not getting them when she sends them. :-( I was super happy to get them though. :-) That’s certainly a great way to start off my morning! (I love cell phones, I guess I just loathe them. Ha.)

On to the NFL. Wow, what a day. Truthfully, I didn’t watch all the games. I just didn’t feel like it though I’ve seen all the replays now and I did watch some of the games.

The first game of interest was the Vikings/Browns game. I expected the Vikes to take it easy enough but the Browns did give them a run for their money for a while. But when you have Adrian Peterson, it’s pretty much over. He can be shut down though… if their defense was stronger I’d say they’d be real good Super Bowl contenders. The NFC is weak though so anything can happen (hell like the Cardinals going… hahaha!) AP had a sick run where he juked, stiff armed, and raced his way to a TD.

I’ve been telling folks that play fantasy football to pick up Drew Brees. The Saints may not be winning games but with 5,000 passing yards in last season alone, he’s a guarantee for points. Once again he rained the bombs down, this time all over the Lions. You knew that was coming. 358 yards and SIX touchdown passes…You’re looking at 52 fantasy points off of him alone! He had a great pass and a great catch to tight end Jeremy Shockey who had the presence of mind to keep both toes in the goal and get possession of the ball with two defensive backs falling on him. Wow. I’ve also said to get Greg Jennings (or Donald Driver if GJ isn’t available.) Aaron Rodgers proves he can handle the Packers offense and those are his goto guys. In a West Coast Offense, you can expect major yardage and touchdowns from them both. They dismantled the Bears yesterday. Somehow it managed to be a close game even though the douche that is Jay Cutler got picked FOUR times. Crazy, huh? He’s garbage. Unfortunately for them, Brian Urlacher had a season ending wrist injury. Ouch. Rodgers ended the game with a play action pass to a wide open Jennings. The safety read run and bit leaving a stumbling corner who had trouble all game to begin with to handle the veteran receiver. He launched the pass and that’s all she wrote!

I was watching the Broncos/Bengals game only slightly. The Bungles always get air time around here which sucks. I wasn’t too interested as both teams are garbage. I will say this, the Broncos won it off a tipped pass intended for Marshall and Stokley was there to grab the tip and run it all the way down to the one yard line where he showed his veteran abilities by running parallel to the goal line to drain every last second he could before waltzing in for the TD. I’m glad they lost, Chad Johnson pisses me off as does Marvin Lewis.

Speaking of 4 picks, Jake Delhomme threw 4 interceptions and had a fumble yesterday. His backup threw a pick and then the 3rd string backup threw a pick. Wow. I sure hope no one had him on their team else they’re looking at major negative points.

I watched the episode of True Blood last night. I’ll get around to posting about that later. Right now I’m outside tanning. It was slow at first but I was glad to finally see an end to the Mary Ann saga.

I saw a news blurb about Kanye West taking the microphone away from Taylor Swift at the VMAs. He’s one of the biggest douches out there. I rank him down there with Sean Penn, Chris “Woman Beater” Brown, and Jay Cutler just to name a few. He embarrassed Beyonce who got up there to accept a later award and she invited Swift back out on stage so she could properly accept. There’s a class act though I would have went one step further to denounce West. He doesn’t deserve a damned thing that he has.

My abs hurt today. It’s been a while since I did pull ups and I pushed myself too hard yesterday. My arms are sore too.

I feel okay today. I still have a slight lingering cough which is pissing me off because there’s no reason to be coughing anymore. I’m a tad sore, a wee bit tired, but I’m feeling good in spirit. I did get to talk with Ms. Sexy X the other day regardless of it getting cut short. True that pisses me off but I’ll take what I can get. It’s also true that I’m pissed about all the text messages getting delayed but I did get them and they did make me laugh. So overall, I’m happy to a certain extent. I miss her so much. Sigh.

Just Like A Curse?

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Where to start. Hell, let’s go with last night. Yesterday, I was worried about Ms. Sexy X all day. By afternoon she at least turned her phone back on. That’s a relief but I’m still down. Whatever. I’m looking forward to getting off work and going over to BDubs to watch the game. (That’d be Buffalo Wild Wings, y’all! Also called BW3) I didn’t want no watered down pissy beer but a real man’s beer so I got the nectar of the gods… GUINNESS! Oh, I knew a tall glass of import was going to hurt the ol’ pocketbook but I went there for the atmosphere. A lot of us Steelers fans gather there on gameday. I couldn’t find a spot to sit so I sat with a black dude who was rambling on about all sorts of stuff. He was nice but he was a bit touched. I’m sure he was a little tipsy but I think there was a bit something more than that. However, he was nice and he was talking about some football and about his army life and living in Pittsburgh and some other stuff. I wasn’t really paying any attention because I was there to watch a game. I had 2 Guinness and I wish I had more but that cost me THIRTEEN bucks right there. I got wings too and that put me over $20!!! FUCK. I’m trying to save money so that’ll be my splurge for a while. The wings were actually fairly hot which is weird because I am usually NOT impressed. I think I was having an off day because I don’t normally find them spicy.

The Georgia Tech/Clemson game looked good. GT ran a train with the deadly triple option but then choked and Clemson came back. GT barely pulled that shit out for the win by a field goal. I wish I saw the game but NFL takes precedence for me.

The question that’s floating around is if Troy Polamalu’s injury is half of the “Madden Curse” since he and Larry Fitzgerald were on the cover of this year’s game. I think it’s silly because this is football and everyone gets injured. To top it off, the human missle gets that nickname from me because he plays no holds barred smash mouth football. He gets in on blitzes, run defense, and drops back into zone and breaks up all sorts of plays with hard hits. He’s bound to get shaken up. It sucks that he got hurt on a simple grab for a ball but that’s how it goes sometimes. He should be good in a few weeks I think.

I left the place at halftime and came home to watch the rest. I honestly don’t remember how I spent the rest of the night after the game. I talked with someone for a while, cleaned up for bed, and I guess I just watched SportsCenter as well as typed up some emails and drafts for here. I was feeling slightly better but I’m still sad.

This morning I was so-so. By lunchtime it was hitting hard. I won’t butter it up, it’s depression. I’m trying not to feel it, right now I’m in a bummy mood and I shouldn’t be. I just feel so empty, I don’t feel like eating and I just feel so… empty. :-( I haven’t talked with her in 11 days now. I have heard from her in other ways as recently as 4-5 days ago via a text. But that’s hard to get nothing but silence. It ain’t her fault, nosiree. I just feel sad and there isn’t much I can do about it. I’m trying to buck up. I will. Tomorrow is a new day. Maybe she’ll call, maybe she’ll say the word. If nothing else, I’ll go watch the OSU/USC game with a friend. Blah.

Tonight… I have no idea. I’m going to try to call her. I don’t expect to get an answer unfortunately. But at least I can try. My friends mentioned drinking but I don’t feel like it, especially when depressed as it makes it worse for me.

I know, I know… three fucking posts in one day? These posts help alleviate the feeling, this is a therapy for me.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, bllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. That’s how I feel. I’m just awwwesome I think. Fuck it, fuck y’all, fuck everything. Mmm, that made me feel a little bit better. Ha.
