I’m bummed out already. Tip for the youngsters out there – pace yourself when drinking. Going full retard too quick results in some good ol’ barfing. I hit the point of no return so I didn’t care. ALWAYS drink water before passing out. I did and guess what? ;-) No hangover the next morning. My stomach was a tad off but I gave it a few hours and I was HUNGRY!

I went shooting out in the sticks with some friends. I guess my headphones didn’t do the best job as my ears ring a bit still. I “chopped” down a small tree with an AR15 and my Kimber .45ACP. It was fun but soooo fucking cold. I’m talking 10 degrees in this little holler. We shot water bottles and the water froze shortly after exploding. I was dressed for it but the fingers are always the weak point. I had chili which was WONDERFUL especially after freezing my ass off. That greasy goodness just hit that “hangover” craving perfectly and warmed me up. I smashed 3 bowls of it.

Now I’m chilling in bed after a short nap. I’ve got Munchos and Gatorade at my side. I wish I could shake this funk. I just feel empty. :-( I know what I’m missing. Ms. Sexy X called last night but I missed the call. I tried calling back right after but reception was shitty so I’m not sure if she heard it. It’s been almost 2 weeks now since I talked with her last. :-( It’s going straight to voicemail now. Ugh.

I don’t have any food in the house right now. I’m hungry but I don’t know what for. I might make a huge batch of mac and cheese. I think I’ll watch a movie.

I wish I had something more exciting for this post but to me it’s just another (shitty) day. I’m almost there, to my jumping off point. A few more days then it’s time to start arranging my move. I have to. I was thinking about that today passing through the hills where there’s trailers and dinky little houses with shit piled all around it. Perhaps that’s what they want but I assume they got stuck with the situation and never tried to improve it. I plan giving it my all so I never end up like that. I wouldn’t mind a house in the woods, not at all. But these are on little plots that looks like someone squatted there long ago.

I went to the range yesterday night with a friend. I took my Savage .308WIN out there. The last time I shot it I should have been zeroed at 300 yards… I had been shooting at 600 yards over a year ago with that zero. I must have taken it once more thereafter because it was perfectly zeroed at 100 yards much to my surprise. I took 3 shots at the 300 yard target and didn’t see a thing. I decided to paper it at 100 yards (after shooting 200 yards and watching it hit paper 3″ low) when I shot a perfect MOA group at the top right of the bullseye. Whoops! So I dialed in at 200 yards and it was there but a bit to the right. I brought it left and put a nice MOA group slightly to the left of the bullseye though one bullet went dead center. Sweet! I dialed in for 300 yards and I had a CD as my bullseye. All three punched right through it though I couldn’t spot it in my scope. It formed a slight triangle and was within 3″ so barely MOA. Wow! I guess I still have my touch. These were my 175 grain handloads.

I switched to some Federal I bought last year. They were 150 grain if memory serves me right. I didn’t have the ballistics on hand (I made a chart for my loads) but needless to say they ended up shooting higher than expected. My 100 yard zero shot a good 2.5″ high. I believe they’ll have more velocity and shoot flatter at the shorter ranges so that sounds about right. I made a note of it in case I should want to switch in the future.

It may be capable of sub-MOA groups but I probably don’t have the skill necessary. I let my eye fatigue (the low light did not help) and I did jerk one shot really far off. I think I shot 22 rounds total. All I know is I need to reload back to that one recipe and maybe tweak from there.

That state has so much potential and yet the flaming liberals bring it to ruins.

The RINO governor signed a law that requires sellers of ammunition to gather license information, thumbprint, and signature. They just created loads more bureaucracy to bloat the already suffering budget while simultaneously creating an invasion of privacy and hampering law abiding citizens. As if shit can’t be smuggled in… hello, how many drugs are coming in through the border at any given time? Ammunition is just as easy.

Forget getting ammunition through the mail either. I’ll be surprised if any manufacturer will want to do business with the state. I hope they will find the balls like Ronnie Barrett and just ostracize the state completely. I feel sorry for the inhabitants that aren’t in the major liberal nexii of LA and SF and suffer from their rules.

I went running two nights ago. I had gone to sleep at around 4AM and awoken at 9AM that morning and went to work and didn’t eat a thing all day. I just wasn’t hungry. I ran a mile and a half. Yesterday I woke up and was bit tired. I really wasn’t too bad. I worked all day and came home and Ms. Sexy X texted me. :-) I texted a few things back to her but no response. After going 20 days without talking and then she was despairing… I don’t know. But getting that text I could tell her mood was better and it meant a lot to me. I honestly didn’t expect to hear from her again for quite a while, certainly not one day later.

I went to the movies with some friends to see Zombieland. I don’t care for theaters or overpriced tickets, besides most movies are okay but nothing that really interests me. I’m always down for watching a movie if it’s free so it’s not a slight against movies themselves.

Then she sent a sweet little message while there. I texted her back. She said she felt horrible and that her mom was texting. Awww crap, I felt embarrassed. But she let me know that she was reading them and not her mom. Okay, that’s cool. That was the last of the texts but I’ll take them. :-) I really hope she does that again sometime, I loooove getting them from her. Sigh.

The movie itself was funny. There were dead spots and lame humor at some points but I was amused especially at the over the top gore. I don’t think I can recommend it to go see it but if you’re one of those that goes to the movies anyways then I would recommend it.

The rules were stupid, the first was “cardio,” second is “double tap,” and third is “beware of bathrooms,” with the fourth being “seatbelts.” That just doesn’t make sense. Double tap should be number one if anything. It was done for humor but still. I’m not sure why he used a double barrel shotgun. While it’s nice, he had better weapons like automatic or pump shotguns, fully automatic machine pistols (how I’m not sure,) and of course pistols. His stance of holding it with a chicken wing was pitiful, I know he’s playing the dork role but still. What’s the deal with Woody’s sawed off lever action? You’re living with zombies and you have to cock your rifle everytime? Ever hear of carrying one in the chamber? I know, I’m getting too technical. Some of this stuff added to the humor of the film. Let’s not forget the twinkies, I was laughing at that. Twinkies are okay but sometimes I’ll have an unforgiving urge for one.

This morning I felt really tired and I still do. I worked for a few hours and now I’m watching football. I’m trying to motivate myself to do something but I’m not faring very well. I need to workout today and do a little cleaning.

I just love hearing our fearless leader getting the Nobel Peace Prize for his whole 9 months in office. It must be nice to be black, affirmative action apparently reaches all the way to Geneva. Who am I kidding? The ultra liberal europeans are leading that pack. Meanwhile there’s hundreds of people slaving away to make the world a better place and what do they get? I know, it’s not about recognition but that’s just fucking harsh. /rant

Keep this SCOTUS docket in mind: McDonald v. Chicago, 08-1521. Why? It is a case challenging Chicago’s draconian handgun ban law and the Supreme Court of the US has actually decided to hear it! Wow! I never thought I’d see the day. I know Heller v. DC opened up the floodgates so to speak with all sorts of laws being challenged but the ruling was narrow and didn’t touch incorporation of the 2nd Amendment. I figured it’d be years before we saw a case like this and it’s on the docket already for next summer! I’m not sure what the plan is here, it was a 5-4 ruling on Heller v. DC and the only justice replaced was already a leftie so the balance hasn’t shifted. I’m surprised that the law will be challenged under Obama’s administration. I don’t know how it will go but almost everyone, including gun banners, think the ban will be overturned. I agree but it’s what else is put in that opinion that could make a difference. I’m nervous but it’s about time.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/01/AR2009100100419.html

Moving on to the Ultimate Fighter last night… what a horrible fight. The episode was good, it was pretty funny with all the bickering. I laughed pretty hard when Rampage told McSweeney to “take Rashad’s nuts out your mouth so I can hear you.” Then when Rashad was harrassing Rampage about losing to Keith Jardine who was in the house… priceless. The fight was very predictable. I wanted to see Kimbo lose since he’s garbage but I don’t like Roy at all, he’s an ass who sucks at MMA as well. I hope he gets knocked the fuck out now, with them saying he’s Rashad’s number one guy let’s me know they’re in trouble now. Anyways, Kimbo’s obvious chance was to stay on his feet and deliver punches, everyone knows that. He has no ground game, he’s new to it. That was made obvious when Roy finally took him down with a minute to go in the first round where they stayed with Roy using his fat rolls to smother Kimbo and lay little punches on his head. Weak. In the second round Kimbo starts off strong and lands quite a few heavy punches which obviously stuns Roy. Roy comes after him and Kimbo just lands a huge knee into his gut. Unfortunately, that meant at that moment Kimbo was standing on one leg off balance. Roy’s forward inertia coupled with his giant fat rolls kept him going forward, falling right on Kimbo which actually left Roy in the better position – on accident I assure you. From there we had a full minute of Roy doing nothing. I like Herb Dean but he should have waved them up to their feet but he didn’t. Roy had a very weak side control which any good fighter could get out of. He pinned Kimbo’s arms to the ground and used his rotundo to smother him whilst laying itty bitty punches to the top of Kimbo’s head. Herb had no choice but to call the fight after a minute of that. Why? While he wasn’t doing any damage, Kimbo couldn’t defend himself and this would have gone on for 3 more minutes so it didn’t matter. WEEEEEAK! I’m sure we’ll see them work Kimbo back in somehow, the previews are already hyping that shit. Marcus looks like he could be a beast but he’s a softy given his rant on flowers. WTF? I can respect a man and gardening but while you’re on an MMA show competing for a contract you might want to keep that little tidbit to yourself. I can dig it but it’s only going to hurt you. He seems hurt prone too.

Lastly, Michael Vick was said to have a new endorsement with Nike as reported by ESPN last night. I was calling BS, there’s no way. I was proved right this morning when they reported an agent claimed he was but a Nike spokesman said that there is no endorsement in place, just free equipment provided like they do for many athletes. That’s too bad, I was getting my hopes up for some “BadNewz Shoes” you know that new “PitFight Series.” Hahahaha.

I’m going on 13 days without hearing from my Ms. Sexy X. I’m a bit sad. I’m feeling okay, I’m trying not to let it get to me but you know that shit lingers regardless. I have a busy day of painting, mowing, and fixing my computer ahead of me. Then I go into work. It’s finally sunny and clear here, I was getting pissed off at all the cold assed weather and cloudy days lately. It’s still chilly, mid-60s maybe. Oy.

I’ve got a strange hankering for this fine weapon. I’ve always wanted a Sig. I wanted the P228 but that’s phased out by the P229 so that’s what I want. I watched the Bourne trilogy which prominently features Sig pistols which doesn’t sate this appetite.

It’s a compact but it is fairly large with an all metal frame and only 10+1 rounds of 9mm capacity. I would use it for concealed carry though my M&P 9c is a favorite of mine and would be carried 90% of the time. They do make a smaller, single stack 9mm but I’m not interested in that.

I don’t have the money to buy it but it’s something on a wish list for sometime well into the future. I’d also like an H&K someday but I’m not craving it.

Of course, here’s the obligatory picture. :-)

I awoke several times this morning. Why? No reason, I just wake up. I don’t know. I’ve been lounging this morning, just thinking. There’s quite a few things I’ve been thinking about, the most important you can guess. I still have a lingering cough that’s buggering me. My nose is still running just a tiny bit. I’m not depressed. I just am. I want to be happier. I am smiling and I’m most certainly happy when I think of Ms. Sexy X… so I am happy throughout most of my day. I want to live my dream and be perpetually happy, I will be and it’s getting close. I just don’t know when. I’m not complaining, it is what it is. I’m just impatient. Ha.

I do have Sports Center running in the background. On it was none other than Plaxico Burress. It’s reported he used a Glock handgun though I can’t find any confirmations on that. He says he had on black jeans and was carrying it “mexican” a la sans a holster in the front of his pants. As he climbed the stairs the gun slid down his pants and he reached down to stop it and says he must have hit the trigger through his pants and shot his leg. That’s very likely.

So let me review some basic gun safety. Please, ALWAYS use a holster. Some people out there won’t and if you’re comfortable with that… well have at it. KNOW your gun, how it works. Glocks have some safeties but they rely on the user as all safeties do. In this case, all three safeties are deactivated by the trigger pull. NEVER reach down to grab a falling gun no matter what kind. Almost all modern handguns have some sort of good drop safety incorporated in them which makes the chance of an accidental discharge nil when it falls. However, your chances SKYROCKET when you reach down as your finger can get into the only spot (trigger guard) that will cause the gun to fire. Don’t take that chance, take the scratch.

Even if you don’t use a holster or don’t know how it works, trying to catch a falling gun is a newbie mistake and should NOT be practiced. Let it fall, I don’t care if it’s a $50,000 gun, can you buy yourself a new life with that money? I didn’t think so. This has literally cost Burress MILLIONS. That’s one expensive flesh wound. He could have bought a warehouse full of guns for that money. Take the hurt pride and a scratch.
